Durbin gets export boost through Heathrow

25 August 2017

Heathrow and the Department for International Trade’s ‘Exporting is GREAT’ campaign have awarded Durbin one of 20 UK funding and support packages. The campaign was created to encourage export of goods and services to new international markets.

Through the ‘World of Opportunity Programme’ Heathrow will provide £40,000 for SME trade missions or research into global markets of their choice. Durbin will also have access to the personalised advice of an International Trade Advisor from the Department of International Trade, and a Plaza Premium lounge pass to begin their trip in style as they depart from Heathrow.

Leslie Morgan, CEO Durbin PLC said:

“Durbin is really pleased and proud to win this award. We intend to use it to increase our relationships with global charities and NGOs particularly in the USA, allowing us to help them provide life-saving medicines and equipment to people in desperate need across the world. Durbin already exports to 180 countries and Heathrow is vital for us. It’s a true international hub allowing Durbin to distribute pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and relief goods on a global basis.

Having a world class airport with expanding international links on our doorstep is essential for Durbin and indeed all exporters in this post–Brexit world. The addition of new routes to China, the Middle and Far East has been an important component of Durbin’s award winning growth in recent years. Furthermore, the new route to New Orleans has made a big difference for us internally shaving six hours off trips to our USA facility.”
