Durbin USA wins Governor of Mississippi’s Award for Excellence in Exporting 2017 – Market Expansion Category

We are delighted to announce that Durbin USA has been awarded The Mississippi District Export Council ‘Governor’s Award for Exporting 2017 – Market Expansion Category’. The award recognises our ‘noteworthy success in maintaining and increasing export sales’ and the contribution that Durbin makes to the economic growth of Mississippi.
Says Carolyn Rasmussen, Operations Director: ‘We are very proud that the Governor and Mississippi District Export Council have honoured us with this award. We have invested extensively in the development of our business over the last few years, proactively expanding our customer base both across the US and the world. We are also delighted that this growth in turn has translated into job opportunities for Mississippi residents. Indeed, over the past 3 years our staff numbers have grown from 13 to 32 employees. Due to Durbin’s continued expansion we will break ground early next year on new premises in Ocean Springs that will increase our office and warehouse space by five times, providing a further springboard for local employment opportunities’.
Mississippi Development Authority began recognizing companies for their exporting efforts in 2009. Applicants have to demonstrate export management success in a number of areas including a major increase in export sales, breakthrough in a particular competitive market, the introduction of a new product into export trade, or the successful response to a foreign market challenge.
